‘Evolving Intelligence’
2022 — 2023, Copper Wire

The repetitive geometric shapes in the sculptures resemble cells that are constantly evolving and creating multiple intelligences: ‘repetitive structures’.

Just as in music, painting, and sculpture, I utilize the minimalism movement in this work. Generally, the works are simple in design and reduced to the essentials.

While creating these sculptures with the copper wire, I constantly heard the repetitive music of Philip Glass’s ‘Einstein on the Beach’ in my head. It gave me the feeling of slowly ascending into heaven. Repetitive sounds or shapes never have the same length, height, or width. Together, they create a single, solid cloud. And the cloud mass tells each viewer their own story; creates their own imagination and allows them to experience a different universe.
On location, the sculpture will interact with the specific space and the changing light. It is very flexible and can be shaped into any form within the space.

I would like to install it myself, in collaboration with the curator.
Installation of the sculptures:

These sculptures consist of multiple elements: long, short, round, and wide
…and it is possible to:
1. hang them on a wall; 2. hang them from the ceiling; 3. lay them on the floor; 4. allow them to flow from the wall to the floor.
